How do you know your limits?
How do you know when you’ve reached your limits? Do you know when it’s time to ‘change things up’ to get the most out of yourself?
Sometimes it just takes time & patience to get where we want to be, but often things plateau & we can begin to struggle to find ways to keep going.
These plateaus are the key to recognising the need to ‘change something up’. They generally reflect lifestyle issues, stress, & external pressures. When we fail to take these things into account & continue training, we can expect our progress to plateau.
But we don’t expect this. We think we can push through it & don’t listen to our bodies. We don’t know our limits.
Our limits need to be set based on our current state, to be monitored & reviewed regularly. This gives us the power to control our training, our rest & recovery periods, & our lifestyles, to maximise our performance, & work towards realistic & achievable expectations.
